Always Half Full, 2008

2008, Always Half Full, in Dai tempo al tempo (Give Time Your Time), 25/05-29/07, curated by Fiona Parry, Joseph del Pesco, Pelin Uran, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Palazzo Re Rebaudengo, Guarene d’Alba (CN) (In several shops and snack bars in the town of Guarene d’Alba and inside the museum (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Guarene d’Alba), 25th May – 29th July 2008)

A production of 700 only half-filled bottles of Barbera d’Alba wine is sold at full bottle price in the town’s food shops and bars. After three days, on the opening day of the exhibition, the expiry of the “best before” date makes the bottles unsellable. They are removed from the shop shelves and thus transform from sellable products into works of art, exhibited on a pallet of 450 bottles inside the museum.
